FRENCH ART FOR
THE
AUSTRALIAN
HOME
Victor and Noble helps you layer your home with works of art collected from across France, each one chosen for it’s unique story. Whether it be a hidden smile, a lazy sunset or a shore long ago changed by time, we curate our French collection to ensure each one has a tale to tell...

hi!
I’m Antonia, founder of Victor and Noble.
I have always loved treasure hunting. From rummaging through the flea markets of New Zealand as a kid, to scouring the markets in France as an adult.
So after collecting, curating… and raising children, it felt the right time to create Victor and Noble. I hope these pieces of art, chosen both for their appeal and story, help you soften your home with their imperfections that reflect their journey through time.
I love the idea that should we chose to include their story in our homes, we become another story for them to tell once they journey on.
Welcome to Victor and Noble xx

Sunset Over River
%20copy.jpeg)

1924. Signed. Oil on board. 25cm x 25cm
$350
Small but mighty, I could get lost in the texture, colours and mvoement. The colour palette in this painting means it will go with almost any interior and in any nook xx
Protrait of a lady

Victorian. circa mid 19th century Oil on canvas.
$450
Most likely around 200 years old, the look on her face makes me think she has some secrets. My teenager suspects she was waiting for the sitting to be over (yawn) to sneak out to see her boyfriend (really?). She was clearly loved (and wealthy) as a shipment notification indicates she wasn't a painting to be left behind xx
Leisure in Blue

Attributed to Jean Adrien MERCIER 1899-1945 Signed. circa 1920's. Oil on card. 31.5cm x 25.5cm.
$600
I invite you to relax into this painting. Luminous and simple, this reclining nude is now around 100 years old. Signed and attributed to Jean Adrien MERCIER 1899-1945. A beautiful wooden frame keeps her safe xx
Summer Day

J.DEVLIGNE (1879 - 1947).Oil on board 27cm x 19cm
$400
A known post-impressonist artist who attended the Salon des Indépendants in Paris from 1923 and the Salon des Artists Francias from 1931 to 1934. A warm palette, simple and calming. Will ad depth to a neutral palette while not stealing the show xx
Afternoon Light

Southern France. 1934. Signed. Oil on canvas. 46.3cm x 38.3cm
$350
This beautiful seaside moment has so many layers and textures. What appears quite simple at first, up close is some very very clever colour mixology.
One of our larger paintings, is can be THE colour pop of the room, or will pick up almost any colour that you're wanting to have in your curtains or pillows xx
Green Meadow

Signed. circa 1920's Oil on board. 61.3cm x 46.3cm
$300
Full of energy, the painting is on a Lefranc stretcher with the anchor wood-burnt logo which they used from around 1880. However the sticker on the back places it around early 20th century. The canvas bears some marks of its age, and with it's prominent green offers an almost colour block post-impressionist canvas for your walls or propped on a bench xx
